Palawan is best known for its tourism. But it’s not the best place for agriculture mainly because the soil is silty and it only rains when there is low pressure or typhoon somewhere near. Now, in the picture we see Chinese Cabbage. Some may think nothing is special about it as it is common especially in Mindanao and to other places with cool areas. Given the condition Palawan has, it is extremely difficult to grow these kinds of vegetables including all of those ingredients for Chop Suey.

It took a lot of effort, dedication, and hard work for my father to be able to grow these Chinese Cabbages. I can recall when my father was sick for two weeks, he was forcing to stand himself up to water the plants. At the end, all of his efforts paid off. The vegetables grew healthy, fully organic, with an average of 1 kilogram per piece.
That day in the picture marked the first day of harvest and we thanked God for the bountiful blessings He showered.
